Steam sale
How much a game's price on the Steam store is cut while a sale or discount runs, with the sale price, the usual price and when the discount ends.
How it is calculated
The store's own figures for the cheapest way to buy the game on its own, which we read with the game's store details. Visitors in the UK see the UK store's pounds, visitors in euro countries see the euro store's prices, and everyone else sees the US store's dollars; the footer switch changes this. A game counts as on sale while the store shows a discount and its end date has not passed.

Caveats
- Steam sets prices per region. We read the US, UK and euro stores only, so other local prices can differ, though sale percentages are usually the same.
- UK and euro prices are checked a little less often than US ones. Until a game's UK or euro price has been read it is shown in US dollars.
- We check prices every 6 hours for busier games and weekly for the rest, so a sale can start before we show it. A sale is hidden as soon as its end date passes.
- Bundles, editions and discounts for owners of other games are not counted.
