Monthly players before October 2026
The average and peak number of people in the game on Steam in each calendar month before our own collection began. These figures come from a licensed historical archive, not from our own polls.
How it is calculated
The archive read Steam's player count about once an hour; the average is the mean of those readings and the peak is the highest. Complete months before October 2026 only. From October 2026 on, the charts above use our own polls.

Caveats
- Counts people running the game through Steam only. Players on other stores, consoles or launchers are not included.
- Estimates, accurate to within about 0.3%.
- Peaks come from roughly hourly readings, so they can be lower than ours, which come from polls up to every 15 minutes.
- Available for our most played games only, back to July 2012 at the earliest. Other games show no history before October 2026.
