New peak records
A game reaching more players at once than ever before, on the day it did.
How it is calculated
Each UTC day's highest poll reading for a game, against the highest from every earlier day we polled it and, for our most played games, the highest monthly peak in the licensed historical archive. A day counts when it beats both and reaches at least 1,000 players. A game outside the archive needs 30 days of our own polls first, so its first weeks are not all records.

Caveats
- Counts people running the game through Steam only. Players on other stores, consoles or launchers are not included.
- We poll the busiest games every 15 minutes and quiet ones as rarely as once a month, so a short spike between polls can be missed. Each game shows how often it is polled.
- Archive peaks are estimates, accurate to within about 0.3%, so a record must beat an archive month by more than that to count.
- A record set today can still rise before the day ends.
