Steam outages
Times Steam itself was down or struggling, shaded on player charts so a dip there is not read as players leaving a game.
How it is calculated
Each quarter hour is checked two ways: Valve's count of Steam users online below 85% of the median of the readings in the 3 hours either side, or most of our player-count polls in it failing with a server or network error (at least 20 polls). Quarter hours next to each other make one outage.

Caveats
- Short outages between two readings can be missed.
- Only Steam-wide trouble shows: a single game's servers going down does not.
- From 3 November 2026; Steam users online from 22 October 2026.
