Estimated games released on Steam
Our estimate of how many games Steam will have released by each day of the rest of this year and of next year. A projection, not a count.
How it is calculated
The rest of this year: today's year-to-date count, grown day by day in the same proportion as each of the last three full years grew from the same calendar day, averaged. Next year: this year's estimated total times the average yearly growth of the last three years (this year's estimate included), spread across the year in the average shape of the last three full years.

Caveats
- A straight-line estimate from past years: it knows nothing about Steam policy changes, big sales events or a surge of new tools, any of which would move it.
- It inherits the release count's own caveats: games removed from Steam before 19 October 2026 are missing from earlier years, which can make growth read high.
- Recalculated every time the release counts update, so the estimate moves as the year goes on.
