Tag trends
For each Steam tag and calendar month: how many games with the tag were released, the share of reviews posted for those games that recommend them, and the average number of people playing them.
How it is calculated
A game counts under every tag Steam's users have given it, as on the games list. Releases are counted as on the releases chart. The share positive is the tag's recommending reviews posted in the month out of all its reviews posted in the month, from each game's monthly review graph. Players are the sum of each game's monthly average players, over the most played games that have monthly history before October 2026: the same set of games in every month, so a month never rises because more games were counted. Years are compared over the same complete months: January to the last full month in both years.

Caveats
- Steam's tags are chosen by its users and change over time; a game is counted under the tags it has today, in every month.
- Players cover the most played games only, chosen by how much they are played today. A game that was big years ago and is little played now can be missing, so older years can read low.
- Reviews come from games with at least 10 reviews, read monthly, so the latest month is still filling in.
- Counts people running the game through Steam only. Players on other stores, consoles or launchers are not included.
